As a background to this body of Ecstatic Poetry, it may be helpful to know that Paul Goldman has been writing poetry since the early days when he first expressed teenage angst and later a desire to fix the ills of a world gone mad. Thankfully, along with a modicum of maturity and an ever evolving spiritual path, Paul experienced a poetic breakthrough.

It was as if the dam had at last burst forth and a river of words Divine flowed freely. Some said it was as if Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi himself had begun to whisper words of breath, of love and beauty beyond this temporal world. What is certain is that a new poetic voice, a style as old as it is fresh was born and Paul Goldman began to write of the Wild Joy! he found in giving life to these words, which spilled both from his heart bursting with bliss and his aching fingertips rushing to transcribe the torrent of Ecstatic Poetry being gifted to him.

Paul was first encouraged to work with a local musician, Tom Jacobs [www.tomjacobs.com] on recording a Spoken Word CD with musical accompaniment. Tom and Paul immediately connected as two souls who had made a contract to meet once again and continue the troubadour path that they both had played out many centuries ago in other lifetimes.

The subsequent recording of what was to become the CD Wild Joy Released, The Ecstatic Poetry of Paul Goldman was quite favorably received.
